Morlens School of Music – Developing Youth through Music – Sunday November 30th, 2014
The Morlens School of Music initiated its Community Recital Series in February 2013. The recital series aims at showcasing talented youth within the community. The purpose of the series is not only to display the talent possessed by the youths featured, but to also inspire other youth in the community to push, work hard and dedicate themselves to improving their musical development.
In an interview with the Anguillian when asked what the object of the recitals was, Mr Vanterpool replied: “The brand of the Morlens School of Music is the advancement of youth through music. It is to showcase the progress that students have made, and then to give them a feel of what using music as a performance tool is like.”
The Morlens School of Music encourages the general public to attend future performances and support the dedicated youth performing. All free will benefits received from the series go towards the Blossom Centre and the ALHCS Concert Band.
