If you know me at all, you probably know that I aim for at least seven hours of sleep a night. I start my weekdays at 5:30am with exercise so I am usually in bed by 10:00pm on week nights. I have to have a good reason for a late night lime on a week day. Last Thursday I had two good reasons to lime on a week night.
- My good friend Shauna is leaving the island for further studies so we needed a Bon Voyage outing
- Lauren, an old friend from my Ryerson University Days was visiting Anguilla for the weekend and Thursday was the best night to see her
Our night started at the Blue Bar at CeBlue. CeBlue was actually closed to the public that night but we were allowed to stay and have dinner. I would like to say thanks to the manager who made an exception for us. With so many restaurants closed for the low season, this was a wonderful stroke of luck. I had the calamari pizza which was good as always and the service at the Blue Bar was excellent during the evening. You can read more about dinner at CeBlue here and here.
As soon as she arrived in Anguilla, my friend Lauren learned that the place to be on a Thursday night was Sandy Ground. Great job to The PumpHouse and all the establishments in Sandy Ground as it is your hard work and investment which has resulted in Sandy Ground being labeled as the liming district in Anguilla. After dinner we went to Sandy Ground and our first stop of course was The PumpHouse. We had some drinks and listened to some live music. The Musical Brothers were fantastic as always. The lead singer Daryl and I went to high school together. I don’t think I knew he was such a great singer and performer then. You can check them out every Thursday at The PumpHouse.
Later, we headed over to Elvis’s Beach Bar where we had some more drinks and played the game featured in the somewhat blurry pic below. Apparently, I am really bad at getting beanbags into holes! I left my friends sometime after midnight and headed home. It was a fun evening but I later learned that a fun night out was marred by an unfortunate incident.
Lauren I am glad you still had a wonderful time in Anguilla and I hope you will be back so you can experience more of our beautiful island. Shauna, I would like to wish you bon voyage and all the best with your studies. I look forward to following your adventures online.

We love the Pumphouse, we are there several nights during our stay, have not been to CeBlue, hopefully next trip, heard their pizza is fabulous. Terrible news about Elvis’ – glad you were not there.
Hi Ellen
Yes definitely visit CeBlue. PumpHouse has a great vibe – great theme nights and creative menus. Thanks concerning Elvis – unfortunately my friends were there and one of them it was her first visit to Anguilla :).
I love getting your news-y updates, live from Anguilla! yes, it was terrible what happened at Elvis’s after you left–terrible for those who experienced it and terrible for the island in general.
Hi Emily
Glad that I can keep you updated and connected to Anguilla. It really was terrible and we are certainly praying and hoping that this behavior will cease. I hope that you have a fab week. Cheers!
